The Skinny Belt

With the end of winter on the horizon, it’s time to start looking ahead towards spring. I browsed a lot of designer’s Resort 2009 collections while in NYC over the holidays and I have to say the one common denominator I spotted was the skinny belt.

The best thing about them is you can put one over pretty much anything and instantly transform what would have been a boring outfit into a stylish one.

From monochromatic outfits to loose button down shirts and cardigans, the skinny belt is a great way to show off your waistline and give you that polished put together look.

Skinny belts should be worn just above the navel where your waist is most slender. The only big no-no is not to wear it too tight.

I’m not even sure why we’re waiting till spring. Why not start flirting with the skinny belt these last few weeks of winter.

Have fun and send me pics of cute outfits.  LadyLex@ineedprettythings.com

Great post, and great recommendation. I think a belt makes girls look so much better when wearing loose dresses, shirts, sweaters, jackets, etc. Its so much hotter to show off a little bit of curve. Its feminine, pretty, attractive. Skinny belts are a great way to avoid looking like a walking Kleenex box!

I have been using skinny belts forever, love them and they make everything look sleek. Get some in textured textiles…like croc or snake.
And Lady Lex you do a hell of a job, thank you for your stylish hook ups.
