Taking the Stand: Rodent Accessories

Let’s Review the Case: Definitely a WTF case here. Honestly, this court is shocked that such a thing could even become a trend, but so it has.

In order to remain as neutral as possible on this case, we’ll allow the pictures to do the talking. It is worth pointing out that while some of the pieces are indeed taxidermic (made from dead animals), others are merely plastic critters.

Pretty Committee? Are you there? Please talk?

left-tie3Left-Tie: Somebody call an exterminator and PETA. If any one of these “accessories” used to be alive, what a way to go. This is bad Halloween decor, not fashion.  And rats aren’t even in.  They’re gross and creepy.

trendspotterthumb3Trendspotter: Talk about being fashion roadkill. I don’t even know where to start on this one… but I’ll start with why rats? So gross. I think I would be seriously creeped out if I saw anyone wearing any of these. However, I am a little intrigued to find out more about the artists behind these creatures.

ladylexinhamburgthumb2 Lady Lex: Someone needs to set a trap on this trend. Are we that desperate for new ideas? The only person I wanna see this close to dead rodents is the Orkin man. Otherwise, I’m going to have to pass on this trend. Although, it does give me a good idea for a Halloween costume this year.

jessbiopic70_702Jess: As creepy as this trend is, Exhibit A kind of reminds me of Edward from Twilight.  Haha, yes inpt readers, I am a HUGE twilight fan.  I am currently reading the fourth book and I cannot put it down.  Anyway, back to rodent kill.  I personally would never wear dead mice on a headband, but to each their own.  If Edward, from Twilight, wore a rodent bow-tie, I would still adore him! :)

daphnethumb2 Daph: OMG, I am scarred by rodent accessories. Is this for real? Did Ozzy Osbourn play a role is this creation?  There is something seriously wrong if you like this. I mean this is a dead mouse or animal on you, not just their skins, their whole carcass body hanging on your clothing. What designers are these? I want to write them a letter. Eww, I am seriously creeped out.

serena-markstrom_bigger1 Posh Hippie: These are horrible. I hate them. I’m surprised this trend didn’t surface when the whole waif/heroin chic thing was in. What completes the walking dead look more than a rodent crawling all over your outfit?

ashley_cropped4Ashley: There is really only one thing for me to say about this “trend.” If I want to puke at the idea of a rat in our sewage system, why would it be appropriate for me to put a rodent headband on my perfectly clean head of hair? Wait, one more thing. Who in their right mind is going to talk to me once I am rocking this dirty rat corpse? Verdict: No, of course. Seriously, mini top hats and rodent accessories, what is this world coming to??

Verdict: This trend needs to be exterminated!
