The snow is melting, fashion week is over, and there’s new shoes at Barneys. This can only mean one thing, spring is near.
After dutifully assessing the new stock at Barneys, Bergdorf’s, and Saks, I’m here to report on the coming season’s hottest shoe trends.
Color, Platforms, and Cut-Outs are going to define shoes this spring, so get ready to replace your winter darks with vivid hues of pink, red, yellow, and lavender. Soft nudes and naturals are also in.
What’s great about these bright colors is they can make any shoe sexy by giving it a flirty feminine twist. Here are my personal favorites from Bergdorf’s:

Christian Louboutin’s Patent Ankle-Wrap Espadrille in red, $495

Christian Louboutin’s Platform Cage Sandal in pink, $995

Christian Louboutin’s Platform Espadrille Slide in beige, $475
I don’t know about you, but I’m so happy to see espadrilles hanging around for another season. Hurray for our feet! I’m also really happy to see the gladiator look getting a little lift, always good news for those of us petite gals. Notice the ankle strap on the red pair, I love that!
Another popular look we’ll see really take off this spring– the cut-out wedge, a trend that originated in the 70’s. I bought these Michael Kors ones last season and love ‘em; I plan to wear them through another summer, so definitely a worthy investment. They’re really striking, but fashionable and practical at the same time. I was a little worried they’d be uncomfortable, but they’re not, as they’re still a wedge and not a straight heel.

KORS Michael Kors Danger. BTW, they’re now on sale at 6pm, Zappos’ outlet store for $115, down from $230.
Here are some of the other wedges that caught my eye, both by Michael Kors.

KORS Michael Kors Valley Strappy Wedge Sandal, Sunshine, $298.

MICHAEL Michael Kors Montgomery Slingback Wedge, $150.
If you’re looking to make a statement without breaking the bank, try one of these bright options from Steve Madden.

Steve Maden Trufle in Lilac, $90

Steven by Steve Madden Brunella Sandal, Coral Leather, $120
So now the only question is what color to paint your toes? Hmmm, send your ideas to Daph@ineedprettythings.com.
XOXO,
Daphne
