In case you didn’t hear the phone gods calling Friday, allow me to fill you in…
Apple released its latest model of the iPhone- the iPhone 3GS. The iPhones 3rd incarnation.
From what I gather, the biggest difference between the 3G and the 3GS is speed. Maybe that’s why they added the “S”?

One of my friends, a complete tech-junkie, rushed out Friday to get the phone. When I saw him on Sunday, it was all he could talk about. Aesthetically, they look pretty much the same, there are a couple minor differences, but I believe all 3G phone cases will work on the 3GS. (However cases created for the first generation iPhone will not work on 3Gs or 3GS.
I asked what he thought were the coolest new features of the 3GS and here’s what he had to say:
1. The Built-In Compass: If you have a hard time determining what direction you’re heading, this nifty little feature makes reading Google maps a whole lot easier.

2. Video Recording + Editing: Ability to send video straight from your phone to YouTube
3. 3.0 Mega Pixel Camera vs. a 2.0 Mega Pixel seen in earlier generations
4. Touch Screen Auto Focus: New feature that allows you to touch the subject you’re trying to focus on.
5. Speed
