Searching for the Perfect Feather Head Piece

As the Gossip Girl’s story line gets better so do the accessories! The show’s wardrobe department must have the world’s best headband collection, thanks in part to the girls on the steps.

I must admit, I was lukewarm about headbands until I saw all the girls on GG parading around in them.  Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t started wearing a headband with a big red bow or anything, but I have started to reconsider the headband, which is probably why I picked up on this latest trend.

Feather headbands seem to be really popular in stores right now. I noticed a few here and there around the holidays, but now they’re everywhere, although I have yet to see someone on the street wearing one. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time.

And may I say, what a difference a feather makes!  It instantly transforms the preppy classic into an avant garde fashion statement.

They’re also a great accessory for those trying to tighten up their purse strings.  It’s a great way to spice up a repeat ensemble.

If you’re thinking about trying out this trend, here’s some of the best I found during my search for the perfect feather.

For a high-end pricier feather, try Pas Comme les Moutons.  BTW, that means “Headpieces for One and All,” in French.  I think?

(Clockwise from top left) The Angelica, layered grosgrain ribbon patch on white raw silk band, $78; The Rachel, feather patch with layered pleated navy silk band, $98; The Ciera, black iridescent feathers with silver studs and double black beaded leaf, $98.

For a more affordable option, Etsy and Urban Outfitters are good places to look.

A) Black Feather headband, bebe $39; B) Jeweled Feather headband, bebe, on sale now!!! $38.49; C) Flowing Feather headband, bebe, $39; D) Emerald Peacock Feather headband, Free People, $38;  E) Ribbon Wrapped Feather headband, Urban Outfitters, $24;  F)Snow-tipped browns headband, Etsy, $32; G) SIMONE peacock feather headband, Etsy, $38; H) Peacock Eye headband, Etsy, $84; I) Paon Fier peacock hair band, Etsy, $32.

Yours truly,

Lady Lex

P.S. If you’re sporting a feather headband, please send me pics and I’ll feature you.
