After watching Carrie Bradshaw fly through the air over Chelsea Piers on Sex and the City, I’ve been dying to try trapeze.
Thanks to the growing popularity of the sport, I didn’t even have to leave Los Angeles to try it. Trapeze School-NY (the school featured in SATC) has opened training facilities in Santa Monica, Boston, and Washington D.C. A number of other facilities have popped up as well. (Click here for details.)
After a quick visit to the TSNY website, I was convinced 1) I wouldn’t die and 2) I’d burn enough calories doing this to call it a workout.
Was I right? Well, I’m writing this review aren’t I? As for trapeze being a good workout, I can definitely vouch for this one. Muscles I didn’t even know I had are sore. The best part– it’s such an adrenaline rush, it never actually feels like work.
Still high off my experience I began chatting (maybe bragging) about trapeze with Cameron McGarr, the Personal Training Manager of Equinox Gyms, and a known cynic of any new and “exciting” form of exercise. To my surprise, he admitted even HE was shocked and impressed. “Not only is it a thrilling experience, but it will strengthen your body in a way that is actually useful.”
Just look at the instructor’s if you have any doubt. Besides all having great personalities, they’re all incredibly ripped.

All and all, a really great way to take your workout routine off the ground.
I’m always looking to change up my workout routine, so if you any other great ideas and/or dares, email me at LadyLex@ineedprettythings.com. I love hearing from you guys.
Yours Truly,
Lady Lex

Lady Lex,
You are a natural!
You little Dare Devil. It makes me wanna run off and join the circus. The Circus theme seems to be popping up all over recently.
