Exposed Zippers

I’ll never forget it. The most embarrassing day of my entire elementary school career.

It was a chilly, but bright November morning. I was 13 years old.  I was eager to get to school that morning and show off “The Mayflower” costume I had made for myself. I remember getting dressed very quickly and then proudly hanging my cardboard creation over both my shoulders before prancing out the door.

Of course, I was chosen to do the prayer in Chapel that morning in front of the entire school. I carefully removed my costume and waltzed up to the microphone. Whispers, giggles, and then laughter… my zipper was down and I was exposed to the entire school.

As you can imagine, zippers became my worst enemy. Of course, over the years, I’ve  learned to forgive them and have even given them a second chance.

I’m so glad I made peace with them because they seem to be popping up all over and if I hadn’t…Well, I’d be a little concerned someone was trying to torment me.

From jewelry to shoes, exposed zippers are a  hot commodity. Add gold hardware to basic classics and you get a look thats almost dominatrix.

Zippers can also add some spunk to your everyday casual clothing such as T-shirts and leggings. LnA is a new brand that reveals the hip side of showing your zipper (meaning I would have been cool if this trend was popular in 1998).

Like any fun trend, this is one that can be taken a little overboard.  Choose your zippers wisely!
