Dreamy Organic Bedding

We spend a lot of time between our sheets, so it’s a good idea to make our beds the healthiest environment we can. After all, it’s in dreamland where we process everything that’s happened to us during waking hours, so why not make it a beautiful and non-toxic place to rejuvenate.

In an effort to make my own bed as healthy as possible, I set out on a search for organic bedding. While there’s a lot more to choose from now than there was five years ago, the options are still limited, which is why I decided to share the yields of my search here on INPT.

The key to finding beautiful organic bedding is knowing where to look:

Not sure if you’ve heard of Gaiam.com, but this site has some good options. They carry lots of basic sheets in a variety of colors. As for duvets and comforters, I love their Casablanca Sateen Bedding in both the aubergine (deep purple) and white. Super Cute! For more of a earthy feel, I really like the Deluxe Organic Cotton Leaf Print Flannel Bedding. This would be really great for summer.  Also discovered this Clean UV-C Sanitizing Wand that piqued my interest.

Clockwise From Top Left Corner: Gaiam Basic Flannel Sheets, Sanitizing Wand, Casablanca Satin Bedding, Cotton Leaf Print Flannel Bedding.

I also found Couyuchi.com. The selection here is more subdued, lots of neutral  colors that all fit nicely together. I especially love their Rocky Shore Collection. The prices aren’t too bad either. A queen duvet cover for $90, not too shabby!

If color is what you’re after Amy Butler has some beautiful bedding that uses 100% organic cotton. Her collections are so bright and cheery, just looking at them puts me in a good mood. Love the Amy Butler Sari Collection. So cute and fun!

For a sleeker more modern look, Calvin Klein has a couple of options: the Bowery Organic set and the Cotton Flowers Organic set. I’m going to get the latter.

Pottery Barn also has a few options, but I must say.. BEWARE OF PAISLEY!

Looking for bedding is exhausting, I’m ready to cozy up with my new sheets.

Yours Truly,

Lady Lex

P.S. Please email me or leave a comment if you know of any other cute bedding!

The sanitizing wand is an interesting concept.  I don’t know of anyone who has one though.

You should check out the purists line at SDH, it’s pretty nice, a little pricey though.

    Here’s a link: http://www.sdhonline.com/the-purists.html

Thanks for the great finds! Keep up the good work.

I don’t think too many people think much about the health implications of their bedding choices.  Like you say, we spend a lot of time in close contact with our bedding and mattresses.  The good thing now is that because more and more people are opening up to the idea of organic bedding and latex mattresses. The downside is that organic bedding is a bit pricier, but it’s really an investment.

I think you should write a dorm room blog.
