Need a little inspiration to take a risk? Then I highly recommend you see the movie Amelia. You’ll leave ready to conquer the world. More importantly, you’ll want to conquer the world in style, like Amelia Earhart did.
The movie’s amazing costume design has sparked a renewed interest in Earhart’s real life style and fashion, which many of us (self included) were oblivious to.
Amelia Earhart was a women of many talents. Flying was just one of her many interests. She was also into fashion and writing; she even worked as an editor at Cosmopolitan magazine.
But that’s not all, according to this article on the Huffington Post, Amelia was also a clothing designer; she even had her own line.

The movie did a great job of highlighting her style and I think she may have been one of the first to put a feminine spin on classic menswear pieces. I loved all her outfits in the movie and am now obsessed with 30’s inspired pieces. Here are some of my favorite Amelia-inspired finds:

Veggie Leather Bomber Jacket from Clockwork Couture $49.95.

Wool Felt Cloche Hat from JCrew $34.50.

Oxblood Red Motorcycle Gloves by Alexander McQueen $470.00.
If you haven’t seen the movie yet, check out the trailer here.
Yours Truly,
Lady Lex
