One of our lovely INPT readers recently wrote in to tell us about her experience at the Barney’s warehouse sale.
Either the frenzy at Barney’s warehouse sale had already died out by the time I got there, or the economy was keeping shoppers away. It was calm and orderly last Saturday; shoppers were well behaved and there was no line at the checkout registers. The selection looked a little picked over after 3 days of the sale, but there were many finds still to be had. A Miu Miu silk taffeta skirt for $150, a Nina Ricci dress for $600, and Louboutins for $250. Most of the selection was several seasons old. Additional discounts had been taken since the beginning of the sale. Designer stuff and shoes started at 25% off then went to 50% off the redlined price. There was a large denim section which I didn’t check out, because I had failed to follow the first rule of the sale which is wear a cami and leggings (no dressing rooms). In the end, all I got was this pair of co-op (their private label) shoes, marked from $495 to $75.
