Animal skins were all over the spring and summer runways, but there’s one skin that seems to be slithering its way to the top already and that’s python.

I don’t know how hot python print pants will be this spring, but I’m wiling to bet that snakeskin is going to be all the rage in accessories. With Fendi leading the pack, you can expect to see it in every color imaginable.

True python can cost a pretty penny, so if you’re going to splurge on this trend, here’s my advice: for bigger items, like shoes and hobo bags, go with a neutral, you’ll get more use out of it.
I have a pair of python skin slingbacks similar to the Gucci ones pictured above and they’re great. They look fabulous with almost everything in my closet. The bag is Michael Kors and is available at Nordstrom. Save the brighter colored prints for smaller items like belts and clutches, when you want to add a pop of color to an outfit.
I spotted these in Club Monaco’s Spring Look Book. You can check it out on their website.
I also found this great little clutch available at Target for only $24.99.
Of course, I’d probably throw my own advice out the window if I came face to face with a, b, or c, (see below), so I understand if you do too.
a) Pauric Sweeney Red Python Bag, available at net-a-porter.com for way too much, b) Ted Rossi Python Puffy Clutch, available at Ted Rossi for $635, c) Sam Edelman Candela flat, available on Zappos now for $113.
Just remember ladies, head-to-toe python is still not cute, it’s best to wear it in small doses.
Until next time,
Trendspotter
