Today we have a special guest writer for you. Her name is Britt Trotman and she’s  the editor-in-chief and founder of Beautygirlblog.com. We asked Britt to share her recent experience with finding a natural remedy for adult acne, something we all can relate to. Here’s what she had to say:

brittpicI had a long awaited conversation with my younger sister the other day. She is away for nine weeks in North Carolina as a camp counselor. As you would have it, the conversation went from “How are you doing?” to “My face is breaking out again!” I’ve exhausted my efforts with trying to give her a solution! She and I both have used everything for our faces. And to let you know, acne is not just with teens. During my first year of teaching middle schoolers, my face broke out just like theirs!

Back to my point though. Several dermatologist visits resulted in numerous antibiotics and night creams. I was even on Accutane for five months. If you are familiar with any of this, you probably already know that using antibiotics for an extended amount of time is not good for your body and greatly affects your digestive system. If you haven’t heard of Accutane, there is a long list of harmful side effects, but at the time, I thought it was worth it! It’s amazing what we will do in the name of beauty!

After using Accutane, which caused severe headaches and depression, the acne still came back two months later! Knowing that my wedding was just a month away, I needed to do something fast and effective. I went to the local organic store and was helped by a little old lady that knew everything! She opened up a huge medical book and pointed out to me that the number one doctor recommended treatment was something called probiotics. She also pointed me to a natural remedy called Clearin.

After only two weeks of taking a probiotic and Clearin, I started seeing results. I still take both of these every day, and my face is clear!

So you may be wondering why I would write a blog about acne. But let’s “face” it (pardon the pun), most people, unfortunately, deal with acne in their teens. And myself in my twenties!

My sister may not listen to my helpful tips, but maybe you will.

To understand better what I have mentioned, here’s an article from an expert. Click here.

I’ve had more skin problems as an adult than i ever did as a teen. NOT FAIR, the teen in me says. The grown up in me is saying maybe it’s a good time to try this.

This is really good news! I was thinking about starting a cycle of antibiotic…phewf! I’m glad there’s another option. Thanks Britt!

Be sure to read the article that I mention at the bottom of the post. It really explains clearly what antibiotics will do to your body!
I hope it works for you!

If you think you’re alone in the struggle to ward off acne,
don’t fret. It seems that while not everyone suffers from
it severely, many-around 85% of people, go through it at
    some point in their life.

Breakouts vary from person to person. So, instead of giving
up, get educated! Here are some tips that you can use to
clean up and eventually clear up that beautiful skin!

The skin, being the body’s largest organ, is always
mending, growing and changing to fit our needs and to keep
us healthy. In a way, it’s a type of bio-shell, surrounding
you and growing with you. In fact, you shed dead skin cells
constantly. This constant loss means that about every seven
years, your skin has completely molted itself in its
    entirety.

So, your skin maintains itself with proper cell function
and reproduction. In order for you to maintain this
delicate balance, you need to be sure to wash your face
    daily.
